The zombies won’t be making an appearance in Modern Warfare 2 any time soon, despite the hopes of those who have been waiting for them. However, a recent leak reveals some kind of such experience is on the road. The aforementioned image was initially uncovered by data miner Codsploitzimgz. The images allude to zombies that move in circles and to various epidemic scenarios. This would imply that at some point in the future, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 will include the classic zombie mode. These playlist icons were probably left in the game by accident, as reports of a new defense-based mode have begun to circulate. These icons are either unused assets that should be removed from the MW2 files or they could have been utilised as a reference point. Either way, they should be deleted. When World at War‘s bonus level featuring shooting zombies was released, nobody anticipated its meteoric rise in popularity. This mode has not appeared in any Modern Warfare game, despite numerous sequels. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare replaced its zombies feature with a cooperative survival mode called Spec Ops. And it looks like there will be a lot to do right from the get-go in Modern Warfare 2, with modes like Warzone 2.0 and the return of Spec Ops. Since this is the case, adding a zombie mode could be the cherry on top for repeat buyers. Zombies may or may not be a part of the game when it first releases, but at this time we have little specifics. Zombies are a natural extension of the franchise and given that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is the first Call of Duty to receive almost a year of post-launch support, fans can probably expect to learn more about this in the coming days.
